A global citizen, entrepreneur and passionate about helping people navigate cross-cultural challenges in life

Tine's story starts with being handed over by her biological mother to an orphanage at one and adopted to Denmark. She grew up in a loving and caring home in the countryside. The values she learned from home were being open and curious about others and not looking to religious, cultural, financial or social backgrounds.

This has given her a curiosity about people, culture and the world, and she cares about the well-being of others. She unfolds that curiosity as a counsellor, which matches her inclusiveness, interest, and understanding of values because we all have different lives.

Tine is aware of the short visit in other lives at an often very delicate time and is humbled to enter other people's lives for a short time when they are the most vulnerable.

Tine is a trained medical social worker with an MSc in psychology and holds years of experience working with patients, relatives, youth and families and grief and loss.

Tine grew up in Denmark but has lived outside Denmark since 2013, first in San Francisco and now in Oberägeri (Switzerland). Tine is a world citizen, and her friendship circle is international. Her time abroad showed her firsthand the difficulties of adapting to a new life and culture and carrying out day-to-day life in an unfamiliar language and culture. But it’s also made her grow. It helped her discover her strength, look at herself differently, and grow from there.

Tine is also the founder of the NGO, Blossom, which works to empower women in vulnerable situations.

Tine continuously receives supervision to ensure her work quality and develop and improve her skills as a psychologist.

Questions

How many sessions will I need?

Your counselling sessions are tailored to your specific needs and can span from a few sessions to several years, depending on your progress. Many clients report significant improvement after 5-10 sessions and often feel ready to apply the skills they've learned independently after 10-20 sessions.

How can I determine if the counsellor is the right fit for me?

Ensuring the proper connection with your counsellor is crucial for a successful journey. To fully benefit from the treatment, you should feel a strong sense of chemistry, trust, and security in the counselling relationship. To help you make this important decision, you're encouraged to reach out and schedule a preliminary call before booking your initial session. This lets you gauge whether I am the right match for your needs.

I like what you offer, but I wonder if it's good for me.

While time can bring temporary relief, counselling offers proactive strategies to manage the present and prevent future issues. It's natural to feel hesitant, but you don't have to go it alone. Let's discuss your concerns and make the therapy process comfortable.

How do I feel after my first sessions?

You often feel emotionally exposed and vulnerable in the days following our first sessions, especially if you have opened up about things you don’t usually talk about. If this happens to you, know that it’s completely normal. It is also known as a “vulnerability hangover.” It might make you feel you don’t want to return for the next session. See if you can work through that feeling and give it another try. We will then talk about your experience in the next session.

What is the cost of counselling sessions?

Adults:
A standard 55-minute adult session is CHF 180, with payment due at the session unless other arrangements are made.

Youth:
Youth often find shorter sessions more manageable due to the intensity of discussing feelings. The fee for a 45-minute counselling session is CHF 160.
Self-paying students can access a 45-minute session at a rate of CHF 120.
